Description
Lao Cha Wang – A matured Taiwanese Oolong with twelve years of maturation
This exceptional Lao Oolong comes from the famous Lu Gu tea growing region in Taiwan and has been cultivated by experienced tea masters for over twelve years. Annual roasting and maturation have given it a distinctive flavor profile that is characteristic of aged Taiwanese oolongs.
Appearance & Aroma:
The leaves are tightly rolled into small, almost black balls, sometimes lighter depending on the number of roasts. A shiny sheen on the leaves indicates their vitality and long maturation. The dry leaf exudes a complex scent of sweet coffee, butter and roasted nuts.
taste experience:
When infused, the tea develops a rich, sweet aroma. Dominant coffee notes combine with dark dried fruit, leather, burnt sugar and a hint of licorice. In later infusions, woody, oily and mineral accents emerge, accompanied by subtle almond tones. The taste is full-bodied and oily, with a pleasant sweetness reminiscent of maple syrup, while the long aftertaste retains a fresh note. Each infusion deepens the character of the tea, changing the overall picture of the taste, not the individual notes.
The special:
Lao Cha Wang embodies the art of maturing and roasting oolong teas. It offers a multi-layered aroma and complex taste that gains depth with each infusion. This tea is perfect for tea lovers looking for a distinctive and meditative oolong.
preparation recommendation
For best preparation, we recommend brewing the tea with water at a temperature of 100°C. Use 5-7 grams of tea per 100 ml of water. The first infusion should steep for 10-20 seconds. Gradually increase the steeping time for subsequent infusions to enjoy the full depth of the tea.
